Your body is always working for you — JOY Water works right alongside it. Naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, and potassium, JOY Water delivers the essential minerals your body needs to truly flourish. More than just hydration, it's a daily ritual for your mind, body, and soul — supporting you through prevention, powering you through healing, and restoring you through recovery. Because when your water is doing its job, you can focus on living your best life.

Dive into the topics and discover why what's in your water matters more than you think.

  • In 1997, I sat in the opening session of Calgary's first Preventative Integrative Medical Program — a young mother, working in the craft beer industry, already aware of the poor quality of municipal Calgary water. The physician leading the program said something that completely changed the trajectory of my life:

"If you are 86% water, and 99.9% of the cells in your body contain water, then water is the single most important health decision you make every day."

It was quiet, undeniable, and true. From a scientific perspective, it holds: the human body is composed of approximately 85% water overall, with intracellular water playing a critical role in cellular communication, nutrient transport, detoxification, and metabolic processes (Popkin et al., 2010; Lang et al., 2017).

From that moment forward, I chose differently. I sought out artesian spring water — naturally mineralized, bioavailable, and structured by Nature.  Water that is alive with energy that is bioavailable for the body.  Natural spring and artesian waters are valued for their mineral content and stable structure, contributing to our electrolyte balance and cellular hydration (Rosborg & Kozisek, 2016).

I understood municipal water systems from the inside. Seasonal variability, chemical disinfectants, the presence of trace contaminants even when water meets regulatory standards — heavy metals, agricultural runoff, pharmaceutical residues, industrial chemicals, all confirmed in treated tap water around the world (WHO, 2017; EPA, 2023). The water crisis in Flint, Michigan should have been a global wake-up call: water can act as a silent carrier, accumulating in the body and interfering with neurological, hormonal, and immune function (Hanna-Attisha et al., 2016).

I also came to understand what we lose when we go the other direction. Reverse osmosis and engineered waters remove contaminants — but they strip the naturally occurring minerals the body genuinely needs and the energy that is contained in water. R/O water is “dead”.  The re-mineralization of R/O water with manmade minerals in varying percentages and ratios are not bioavailable.  The World Health Organization has flagged long-term consumption of demineralized water as a health concern, particularly for mineral balance and cardiovascular health (WHO, 2005). Research increasingly supports the idea that hydration quality — not just quantity — matters for cellular function, mitochondrial health, and detoxification pathways (Jéquier & Constant, 2010).

Water became the foundation of my self-care. Meditation, movement, nourishment — everything else followed naturally from it. Twenty-six years of learning, questioning, and choosing with intention led me to one inevitable destination. In 2023, I founded JOY Waters — not to sell a product, but to share a practice. One conscious sip at a time.

  • Your cells don't just consume water. They live in it. They communicate thru it.  Water fills every cell, surrounds every cell, and powers every system that keeps you alive — carrying nutrients in, clearing waste out, and maintaining the chemistry of life around the clock. The quality of your water is the quality of that environment.  In essence, the quality of water in your body can assist in the electrical pulses/communication between all cells in your body. Think of yourself as a cucumber with an electrical pulse.

  • Municipal water is treated with a range of chemicals chlorine, fluorosilicic acid- a known neurotoxin , (https://iaomt.org/fluoride-neurotoxic-at-any-level-according-to-national-toxicology-program-report-fluoridation-policy-threatened/) , heavy metals, agricultural runoff, pharmaceutical residues, nano plastics and PFAS — even when it meets regulatory standards. Most household filters simply do not remove all of it.

  • JOY starts clean, so your body- liver and the kidneys specifically, do not have to spend energy processing what should not be there in the first place.

JOY contains 89 parts per million of dissolved minerals — low enough to move efficiently across cell membranes, easy on the kidneys, gentle on digestion, and ideal for daily long-term use. Heavy mineralization can overwhelm. Demineralized water arrives empty. 89ppm is calibrated to work with your body, not against it.

  • Drinking water isn't the same as hydrating. True hydration means water entering your cells and staying there long enough to support metabolism, signalling, and energy production. JOY's mineral profile creates the osmotic conditions that make that possible — better fluid retention, more stable blood volume, hydration that works with your cells, not just through them.

  • Calcium — 22 ppm Calcium does 99% of its work at the cellular level, not in the skeleton. It drives muscle contraction, enables nerve signalling, supports blood clotting, and stabilizes cell membranes. In water, it's fully ionized and absorbed gradually — no spikes, no overload. At 22mg/l, think of it as ambient support: a steady background presence your neuromuscular system quietly relies on.

Magnesium — 6.4 ppm Without magnesium, your body cannot activate ATP — the molecule that powers virtually every cellular process. It stabilizes DNA and RNA, regulates ion channels, supports muscle relaxation, calms nerve signalling, and counterbalances calcium — helping direct it into bone rather than soft tissue. Magnesium in water is more bioavailable than in food, gentle on digestion, and at 6.4mg/l, meaningful enough to reduce muscle cramping and improve cellular energy efficiency with consistent daily use.

Potassium — 1 ppm Potassium maintains the electrical charge across every cell membrane in your body. It enables nerve impulses, regulates heart rhythm, supports muscle contraction, and controls fluid balance inside the cells. In water it arrives fully ionized — absorbed immediately, delivered in steady micro-pulses as you drink, providing continuous electrical stability that a single dietary dose simply can't replicate.

  • Calcium and magnesium are functional opposites: calcium excites, magnesium restores. JOY's ratio of approximately 3.4:1 is a physiological sweet spot — enough calcium to support signalling and communication, enough magnesium to prevent tension, cramping, or over-excitation. The balance between the two actively reduces muscle tension and supports neuromuscular stability without tipping your system in either direction.

  • Reverse osmosis removes contaminants — but it also strips naturally occurring minerals, leaving water that the World Health Organization has flagged as potentially problematic for long-term consumption. Tap water, even filtered, may still carry residual contaminants.

JOY is as nature intended: clean, structured, and complete.

  • People describe JOY as smoother, lighter, and more satisfying than other waters — softer mouthfeel, less bloating, better thirst satisfaction. That's not marketing. It's the direct result of mineral balance, low mineralization, and water that disappears into your physiology rather than sitting heavily in it.
